I spend a lot of time surfing the Web. I think it is fun and it is a wonderful tool. There has been a lot of talk lately about Web 2.0. This usually refers to user-generated content, social networking, blogs, RSS feeds etc. These are all wonderful tools for people who Web a lot. Here is my suspicion, though — and I am willing to go way out on a limb here. I think there is a huge bubble happening right now in Web 2.0 content that will burst within five years or sooner. While it is a wonderful thing to connect with other people halfway around the globe and find like interests everywhere. I believe that people will suddenly realize, to their intense pleasure, that it is much better to connect face to face with someone who is in the same room, same house, same town as you than it is to connect with someone on the other side of the world through the often-wonky technology. I am curious to find out how many of our readers are doing these kinds of things, so, I would like to do a little survey to find out where the KnitNet readers are in terms of Web 2.0
